Effective Publicity

An advantage of free publicity for internet marketing is that when positive information is connected with you, it gives you more credibility. A big paid advertisement is costly and doesn’t give you nearly the amount of credibility. If a reputable site is writing about you, such as, a newspaper, ezine or website, that credibility then translates over to you.

 

Free internet marketing publicity is much harder to get. If you pay for advertising you can pretty much bet that your ad will be placed. But since free publicity, is…well, free - everybody wants it. So, that will cut down your chances of actually getting it. Editors of trade magazines and ezines don’t have time to provide all the content themselves, so they are always looking for outside sources.  If you provide them with great content, they will publish you regularly.  Sometimes they will archive your articles and you can end up with long-term links.
